Good for the goose...

You have what the UK tabloids call an "actress with a stunning career", which checking IMDB reveals a spectacular *8* entries for Ms. Sienna Miller, who also happens to be the fiance of Jude Law. They met and got together on the set of the movie remake of "Alfie", which is a bit ironic in hindsight.
Unfortunately for Jude, the British tabloids have ran all kinds of stories this week of Jude being caught having sex with the nanny. She happened to keep a diary of all of this and which pretty much made him acknowledge it and issue an apology to Sienna. Sienna's momma isn't very happy about all of this. In fact she said, ""He's let down the entire family," Mrs Miller said of 32-year-old Law. "It's such a disgusting thing to do and we were all really shocked when we found out. It's typical, I suppose. Some men just can't keep it in their trousers. We were really hoping that Jude was the right guy for Sienna, now we just feel totally betrayed."
What a really sweet momma, sticking up for her baby girl. However. Did she feel any kind of betrayal when her baby got with this then married man in the first place? That's right. Jude was married to Sadie Frost when he and Sienna got together on the movie set. So, yeah, he had already proven that he couldn't keep it in his trousers, momma.
And as for Sadie, whose divorce from Jude was only finalized a few weeks ago, offering her sympathies and an ear to Sienna, well, that's just so very nice. Especially since Sadie is the one who busted the story open about Jude cheating on Sienna - it was one of Jude's kids who walked in on them and told momma Sadie. I just don't know how sincere she might be, because, you know what they say about a woman scorned...

Good from Bad

Last night the kiddo dropped a glass and cut his left thumb pad open. He's fine and didn't need any stitches or anything, which is good. He learned the whole "pressure on the cut with a cloth slows the bleeding" trick and thinks mom is still able to fix just about everything.

Except, today he learned the downside of his injury. He is unable to play video games. That's right - summer vacation has been ruined by the need to drink water. Now he will be more inclined to go out in the hot Oklahoma heat, bug the neighbor kids and ride his bike even closer to the ends of the earth than he already has so far. He says that it doesn't bug him not to be able to play games and he is just glad that his finger is healing, which is good. However, ask him again in a few days when he's bored and tired of being a good sport.

Beau's son has no taste

After all of the chaos of the last couple of weeks, I decided this past weekend would be a good time to do some things that Nate wanted to do - namely go see a couple of movies. Now, he has this habit of declaring every movie that he sees "The best movie I have ever seen". This was put to the test with a showing of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' on Friday night and a Saturday matinee of 'The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D'. (It should be a clue as to where my priorities lie when I am willing to pay full price AND go see 'Charlie' on opening day while only grudgingly going to a matinee at the only theatre in town still showing 'Shark Boy'.)
After seeing 'Charlie', I got the typical "Great!" response, which is what I would hope for after a movie with an 84% freshness rating. However, I was a bit surprised at the overwhelming enthusiasm for the crap that was 'Shark Boy' - whose 17% rotten rating is soundly deserved.

Blech. Next time I go see 'Charlie' I will go see it with my best friend and leave the kiddo at home.
