Snippity snip

So, I take my cat to the vet this morning for a routine neuter/vaccination visit. But, of course, as is usual with me, it wasn't.
Turns out Reese is a "special kitty", as in falls into less than 5% of the kitty population, because he has Cryptorchidism - which is a fancy way of saying that only one testicle decended. Now, instead of a simple snip-snip, they had to go into his abdomen to find the second one and remove it.
He gets to spend the night at the vet, medicating and meditating about the fact that he couldn't have his manhood taken with ease and dignity, they had to make it a big production.
Poor kitty.

Bullshit

Look, I have had a baby and during the pregnancy I KNEW I was pregnant. There were just too many changes not to know.
That is why I have to call bullshit on yet another one of those "I swear I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Only this one takes place with a US Marine on an assault ship in the Persian Gulf last month. Yep, first time ever that an active-duty woman delivered a baby on a combat ship in a war zone.
And that is part of why I call bullshit on this. In the military you HAVE to notify your bosses almost as soon as the stick gets two lines on it if you are pregnant. Due to the fact that you may be unable to perform some of your duties while pregnant, they need to be able to adjust the staffing, etc. It's just something you have to do. So, something feels like to me that she just didn't want to give up what she was doing if she could help it. Seriously, as a file clerk, there isn't much excitement around the office, but, get the opportunity to go overseas and help with something potentially exciting in a war zone - sign me up. Pregnancy, be damned.
So yeah, if she was slender enough, and clever enough with the clothes, to hide most of it I can see where she tried to get away with it. But to claim that she didn't know in the first place just doesn't play with me.
'Course, on the other hand, I am surprised that they didn't do a routine pregnancy test on her as part of the physical before going overseas. Maybe they don't do that so much anymore.

That's just cruel

And the cats said, "Kill me. Please. Now.".
