"The difference between repressing and refraining is that repressing is done out of fear and refraining is done out of love".

Oh, and I love the fact I can accuse a friend of getting a lobotomy and get thanked for it. I've got some warped friends. heh
..earned.
Yesterday marked the 10 year anniversary of running my own business. Oklahoma Fleet Services for Trucking officially opened its doors on June 1st, 1992. With a few address changes, employees that have come and gone, and lots and lots of legal wranglings with the Oklahoma Tax Commission, it is a nationally known company whose profits continue to grow with each passing year.
Not too shabby for a lazy ass chick without a degree who's goal it has been to make the most money with the least amount of effort. Nah, it really isn't like that, but it feels that way sometimes. It really can be a tough job with alot of stress and responsibilites with it - but it is worth it in the long run. Even though it has spoiled me in alot of ways.
I started it when I was 21, just back from Tech School, and with nothing really to lose. But now, 10 years later, I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to go work for someone else. I know that I would be a pain in the ass employee, just from the fact of 10 years of doing it my way, on my terms, that it would be hard to get me to conform. Pretty tough thing to consider when I am only 31 and that a single signature from the Governor could make it impossible to continue my business. But you know what? I tend to be a bit overly optimistic (as I have been told), and since it appears that I have been appointed the office cheerleader, I tend to conduct my business as if it will continue until all cargo is teleported to its destination.
In addition to just being a general authority-questioning pain in the ass, I also would be the overly casual dressing, web surfing, too many vacation taking employee - which isn't such a bad thing at my office, but might be more than a bit of an annoyance somewhere else.
Now if someone wanted to pay me an grossly exaggerated salary to sit on their board if this went tits up - or, better yet, buy me out and pay all of the corp taxes on the selling price and then put me on that board with the outrageous salary, I might give it some serious consideration.
Or if you know of any openings at the SuperT, let me know. Heh.
