Well, it's official

I am going to be having a house built.

I went to meet with the builder, realtor and finance guys this morning and it is a go. All I have to do now is pick a lot and the builder, Jeff Click (who started clixsounds) can get started. It is going to take around 6 months to finish, so I am not going to start packing tomorrow or anything, but it is still pretty exciting.

I am going to keep a on-going record of everything that happens with this, just not on this page. So, I guess that is one more thing to fix around here - adding another page.

Man, this is going to be soooooo cool!

Just a mere...

...1366 hours until I get my hashbrowns. Hell yeah!!!

(Yes, I do know that I am a freak.)

It's all gone again

So I got the hair cut off again yesterday - I was sooo sick of it, at the length that it was. My hair is freaky that it will only slowly grow to around my shoulders and then stop - no matter how long I try to wait it out. But I didn't feel like waiting for it this time, so it's short again. Much better for the summer anyway.

But that's all you do.....

Attention fast food restaurants:

All you do is sell fast food. Pretty simple. But how in the hell do you run out of the staples? I mean, usually what you sell is part of your name, so how do you lose the ability to provide your signature food? Yes, Taco Bueno I am talking to you. How in the hell did you run out of shredded cheese? You couldn't sell me tacos today because you had no shredded cheese - did you run out because everyone got the munchies at noon today after services? What?? And as for you Manhattan Bagel, how can you be out of bagels? Huh? I mean, that is all you sell. Wow, I just can't believe it.

Oh well, at least my trusty Jason's Deli won't let me down, and they will even bring it to my couch-riding, Oscar watching ass.

The Way of the Gun

I had really high hopes for this flick, since it was by the guy who did The Usual Suspects, but I was very let down. I know what the problem was, it can be summed up in two words - Juliette Lewis. Man, she bugs me and I mean in everything she has done, including the biggies Cape Fear, Kalifornia, and Natural Born Killers. I also think she looked pretty stupid when she went to the Oscars with her hair in corn-rows. I mean, the sad thing is, someone actually told her with a straight face that she looked good.

Speaking of the Oscars, tomorrow night is the big night and I will be camped out watching it. It is like the Super Bowl for me, only I am not watching it for the commercials. Tomorrow I will be watching for Russell...uh, I mean, watching for all of the stars...hehe. I love this stuff.

Fixing the glitches part II

Okay, finally got the archives fixed and the little * permalinks working - so now each specific post can be linked. Now all that needs to be fixed is getting that popup cam to display in the window right. Oh yeah, and maybe get the place redesigned. Not much, eh?

Thank you very fuckin' much (or what I learned at the Pantera conert)

1. Metallica is NOT a heavy metal band - and if I say they are, then Pantera will come and kick my ass.
2. Do not sit behind someone that the band knows, or else you will get splashed with beer when the band throws him a beer from the stage and it misses.
3. You're not supposed to understand them.
4. My friends have cannot tell the difference between when I am humoring them and having a great time.
< smirk >
5. That if you jump the railings and run into the floor crowd really fast and take off your shirt, it confuses the guards and they say "Fuck it" and let you go.
The concert was a blast, but one of the coolest things about the night, for me, proves what a entertainment geek I really am - I saw Shelly from Road Rules 1! Yes, I know it was like 9 years ago and I know she has so moved on (updates said she was a freight clerk now), but it was still cool to see her and that she still likes the metal bands - I remember her room was covered in, like, tons of posters and she kept like all of her tix in a scrapbook or something.
Anyway, very very cool night.

THAT's what it is...I finally

THAT's what it is...
I finally figured out who Joel reminds me of - he reminds me of the Chicago DJ, Mancow who does little daily spots on the morning show Fox and Friends on the FoxNews Channel, especially the pic on the FNF page.

It's all a matter of semantics

When she wasn't here yesterday, it was a big pisser. Her lesbian sister, who was in jail for pre-meditated murder, just died from Hepatitas C, and the funeral was on Tuesday. She said that she was going to come back in to work on Thursday to "keep busy so she wouldn't think about it". There was no reason for her not to show up - it's only part-time anyway.

So when she came in this morning, after having no contact with anyone on yesterday, it was time for a chat.

She was asked "Are you sure you really want to work?". Simple as that. That started the tears and the recriminations of "I can't believe you just said that to me, my sister just died. How could you." Then the pseudo-excuses of "I didn't get home until 10:pm Wednesday night and was cramping." She was told "You made the choice not to come in on Thursday, leading us to believe that you didn't want to work, maybe stay home, take care of yourself and your baby (she's 5mos pregnant) and we are just trying to clarify things."
"Well, maybe you're right, maybe I don't want to work here if you guys have this attitude."
To which I responded with as much sarcasm as I could muster, "Of course you are right, because, you know, we have always gone out of our way to make you feel bad and never show you any compassion". (For reference, we have been overly lenient when it came to her attendance, and have always given her the time and space to take care of things in her personal life, and welcomed her back after she quit unexpectedly last year and needed a job this year after becoming pregnant.) I was lucky to get that much out since by this point she had already gathered her things and was heading out the door.

So she's gone.

I guess she didn't really want to work after all.

I notice that every time I type "together", I always say it in my head like "to"-"get"-"her". Weird.

"When two people really love each other but just can't get it together, when do you get to that point when enough is enough?"

"Never"

End of the road

A scandal with a rock band should come as no surprise, but this one is christian and from Tulsa, no less. But, what I want to know is who is this "christian hip-hop" band? (Come on - I dare you to say "christian hip-hop" with a straight face.) And if they are hip-hop, why would they call their tour the "Amazing Pop Invasion Tour"? All this aside from the very unchristianlike "sex with a 13 year old" thing, of course.

Be careful what you wish for...

So I thought yesterday was going to be a boring day and was completely proven wrong.
First, yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of helping a customer service rep actually do their job.< smirk > Let me just say that I think UPS sucks ass. That said, I must give you a bit of the back story.

Several weeks ago I had special ordered new blinds for Beau's office. They were to be shipped directly to the office from the manufacturer. It seems that UPS decided that since they were unable to get into the building after hours on the day of delivery, that we had moved. Smart fucking thinking. So, instead of calling the number on the package to verify if we had moved or not, they returned the package back to the shipper in FL. In the process of returning the package to FL, they did not update the system and it showed that the package was still out for delivery here - this being found out from several phone calls to the 800# trying to track this thing. So, after business hours, and no delivery, last Thursday, I get a hold of the local manager and give him such an earful that he ended up promising several things and put it in writing and faxing it to me - which didn't guarantee shit. Because as yesterday rolled around, I still had no blinds, no tracking number, no call - nothing.

Wait, this is when it gets fun - when I call to speak with this manager I am told that he is gone until Monday, did I still wanna leave him a message? Uhhhh, no, I want my fucking package - okay, not exactly like that, but more along the lines of "Well, I want someone to track down where my package is that you guys mistakenly returned and get it to me." I was then informed, by the ever so helpful customer service rep Karen, that my package was lost and that there was nothing that the local office could do about it and the shipper needed to call the 800# and put a trace on it. Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
Well, that didn't sit too well with me - since it was their fucking fault that the package was returned and then fucking lost - didn't seem right that someone else outside of that office needed to do anything - so I ever so gently explained < read: yelled > that to her and requested to speak to her supervisor - who miraculously took just a bit of information and stated he would make some calls. Amazing how that can happen. Imagine my joy when it was the helpful Karen that had to return the call to me explaining what all she was doing to track down my package - hehehe, good thing she wasn't my waitress, I would have definitely had spit in my food. So, after several calls from her, my package was tracked to the store that I had originally ordered it from (delivered yesterday morning - 13 days after they should have been delivered here) - which ironically, had I just had it shipped to them in the first place, I would have had the blinds 2 weeks ago. Fuckers.

But wait, that's not all you get...

So, I finally make it home around 8:pm, after waiting for 45 minutes to get those stupid blinds, and I get this call from Beau asking if I am at the office, in a white shirt, working on his computer. Uhhhh, no, you just reached me at home eating dinner. Well, looking at his webcam on his desk, he could see someone sitting at his desk, in what was supposed to be a closed office. So, I call the police at the Bricktown Station to go have a look-see around the building. I am presuming that the Bricktown Station doesn't get alot of burglery calls, just alot of public drunk calls after the bars close, because they went all out on this one and sent 6 officers over to the office. I was on the cell phone with one of them after the 911 call and got to listen to the whole thing - and remotely send them a screen shot of the webcam and print it out for them here while they were looking around. (Ain't technology grand?). Anyway, they weren't able to catch the person who was in here, but were able to determine that they had NOT broken in, so they must have had a key - which fucking pisses me off since we have had problems with the cleaning crew stealing from us before and messing with the stuff in our offices - thought you had taken care of that problem, guys? Fuckers.

Gotta be the full moon.

WTF??

So the daycare calls me and says "We have a little problem with Nathan and his potty-mouth".
I say, "Is he still calling everyone a weenie-head? He says that makes Jarrod laugh" and Carol goes, "Uhhh, no, a little worse - he said 'what the fuck?'"
"Huh?? I have never heard that one come out of his mouth before. Now if you had told me that he said 'Shit' I would have been like 'okay, yeah, I need to work on that, sorry', but that one surprises me."
She said, "Well, he had a blank look on his face like he didn't know what he had said, but I still had to call and see if this was something you were working with him on at home, no biggie, just checking."

Note to self: Prolly shouldn't let Nathey watch The Sopranos so much anymore.
