Sweeeet....

One of the nicer things in life is coming home to a clean house that you didn't have to clean yourself.

fidget...fidget

Ever have a time when one half of you wants to do something, but the other half is screaming at you, "What the hell are you thinking?"?

Pretty damn annoying, isn't it?

Update

Just to get everyone up to date:

1. Excellent party, great friends, fun-ass limo ride, and wonderful, unexpected presents.
2. Got moved into the new office and almost have everything all situated - that will be a relief.
3. Good Thanksgiving with family that I didn't have to cook, so no leftovers to try to figure out what to do with.
4. Shitty day-after-Thanksgiving shopping adventure - like I really expected anything less?

And that pretty much gets you all caught up. Don't you feel better now?

You mean that's it??

With little fanfare, my 20's slipped away with a hot bath and a glass of wine.

I guess they are as ready for me to pass this new milestone as I am, but I will miss them. They have been with me these last 10 years like a comfortable pair of shoes that are worn thin and are uncomfortable at times, but you just don't want to give them up. Especially since we have been through so much together.

In my 20's I did all of the following:

1. Met and married my son's father.
2. Had a beautiful son.
3. Started a sucessful business.
4. Had a military career that let me put bombs on F-16 fighter planes. (scary, huh?)
5. Went to Europe and traveled through several countries alone without any problems.
6. Went to Australia.
7. Stopped wasting my mom's money at college.
8. Went to my High School reunion and realized that your friend's battles should not always be your battles and that alot of shit really was stupid.
9. Loved and lost friends, but also found some truer ones along the way.
10. Had alot of stupid fun.

It was not all sunshine and roses, in fact some of it sucked pretty damn hard, but all of it has made me what and how I am today - and that would be a cranky old woman..hehe. No really, it has made me a very strong and patient person who realizes that slow and steady is usually the best way to go and not just be a brief flare of a imploding star in a hurry to get out of here.

I think I am ready to be the mature person that is expected of me now - just don't remind me of that fact on Girl's Night Out after a couple of bottles of wine.

My Myriad

On my 30th birthday, which just happens to be in two days, (the 17th of November) in case I hadn't mentioned it, I will be 10,782 days old according to this calculator.

(Yes, I know this was just another shameful plug of my birthday - so what? It's my freakin' page.) PBBHHHHTTTT!!!!!

How much for 'da rib?Well,

How much for 'da rib?

Well, leave it to geneticists to find out one more thing that women are better than men at - passing on genes.(okay - start the flames. hehe)

Seems they can only trace men back 59,000 years, but can trace women back 143,000 years. Obviously, men had to be around back then to propagate the species, but they just didn't leave a trail (which I find hard to believe, seeing how big a slob you men are - I know, keep the flames a'comin'.). Or else the women were such great housekeepers that all traces of men were just swept out with the the rest of the dust bunnies (see, I am an equal opportunity stereotyper).

Whatever the case may be, I think that what Ray linked to really makes alot of sense regarding science and religion. Will this have any effect on the creationism enthusiasts and their belief in the Adam and Eve story? Or will they still believe that the way it is written is the way it happened, no matter what? Hmmm......

Dedication and determinationAfter going to

Dedication and determination

After going to 3 incorrect polling places and spending 20 minutes trying to get through to the Election Board, I was finally able to negate one middle-aged, upper-middle class, male vote.

I was just so determined to get my vote counted this year that I was willing to drive around all day until I found the proper place to vote. Plus I want to have the privilege of being able to bitch about politics for the next 4 years.

And, as a woman, this election was very important, not just for who will be in the White House for the next 4 years, but who they put on the Supreme Court for the next 2 generations. What doesn't effect me will effect my son's future wife and their (possible) daughter(s). In my opinion, I can not believe that a woman who is pro-choice would in good conscience vote for Bush.

As this argument would take up far to much space here, I would gladly discuss it off the page. But just know this, while there is alot about abortion (ie., funding, partial-birth) that I do not like, I am completely for the right to choose one and the legal accessibility of it for women.

And yes, I am able to vote this way today because my biological mother did not choose to have an abortion, but put me up for adoption. She made the decision before it was a legal (and safer than a back alley doctor) option to terminate, so that begs the question, had it been legal would she have had the procedure? Who knows, but at least now, women have the option to choose, and that should not be put into jeopardy.

Ah-choo!!So the question is, did

Ah-choo!!

So the question is, did I wake up just in time to have the allergy attack or did the allergy attack wake me up so I could bask in it's glory? Whatever the case may be, I just want the sweet, sweet anti-histamine meds to kick in so I can go back to sleep, because there ain't shit on TV this time of morning.
