We'll leave the light on...

Happy Halloween!

Unless, of course, you live in Oklahoma and several other states in the Bible Belt that celebrated All Hallow's Eve last night, because as we all know, Christians and Pagans cannot share the same day, oh no no no. So, instead, we got to go out on that one night each year that you get to see what all of your neighbor's living rooms look like and ask for candy on a non-threatening Saturday night (which actually worked out great, since it was a beautiful night and today has been all rainy).

Nate had a great night. He got to be Batman Beyond (with 3D muscles - heh), that he and his dad picked out this year. We went around to our street and he was getting loaded up and when I asked if he wanted to go home and pass out candy (which he loves to do) he said, "Nah, let's keep going", so we went around to a big curve of the street and his bucket got so full his handle broke. The boy is not suffering for candy, that's for sure. He also made a real point to say "Thank You" at each house and he said to me, "Don't worry, Momma, I will make sure and say it all that time." What a polite little beggar. :)
And after we got back, thanks to the magic of video chat, he was able to show his loot to his dad, letting his dad enjoy a bit of the night, too.
But, the best part of the night for me, behind listening to the hoots and giggles of the kiddo, was when at the end of the night he comes in my room and says, "Boy, Momma, we sure had a busy day today. But the best part of the day was spending time with you." Awww...what a big suck up. So, I let him eat some more candy and stay up a little later. Mom's are so easily bribed. :)
