What did you do for Christmas?

So, the child and I went Down Under for Christmas this year to visit Beau and had an amazing time. He put up alot of great pictures of the child being all touristy and cute as always.

Speaking of touristy, you can climb the Harbour Bridge, which I did. It was so amazing up there. That picture was taken at around 1:30am Sydney time (7:30am cst), so I had basically stayed up all night to do that, but it was so worth it. The weather was amazing, and the city looked beautiful. It was two nights before New Year's Eve, and they had started placing the fireworks on the bridge, next to where we were climbing. It was cool to know that when they went off we had just been up there. They were also going to be having a light show on the Harbour on NYE, and while we were up on the bridge, they turned off all of the lights and did a run thru, which was really neat to watch from up there.

We also got the chance to go to the beach and to ride a train up to the Blue Mountains to see the Three Sisters rock formation. Which we didn't get to do because it was rainy and foggy. We just had to laugh at that point and continue with our tourisy games, pretending there really was something to see in the vast whiteness.

It was a wonderful trip, and like all wonderful trips it was far far too short. Hell, even my legs weren't screaming in pain by then. Even after getting off to a rough start by United Airlines shitty rerouting, rebooking ass, and the horrid gate attendant in San Francisco threatening not to board me on the plane due to me being a "disruption" to the other passengers because I had the audacity to bitch about them changing my hard worked for seating assignment, it was worth every single minute.
My only regret is that I didn't get to stay long enough to see the fireworks (and that the phones had worked since I didn't get to be there).

Happy 2004 everyone!
