Once again here we are at tog.com hq. It is that annual event known as "PaulaDay", where we celebrate the fact that I am on this earth.
The decision was unanimously made this year that while I will still enjoy the benefits of the birthday traditions of presents and cake and overwhelming adoration, I shall no longer observe the changing of the years. So, I will stay 32 from now on.
I didn't wanna do something silly like stay 29, because, I didn't mind going into my 30's. However, 33 just sounds so freakin' Adult - with a capital A. 30 is cool because you are "just hitting your 30's". 31 is fine because you are no longer new to the 30's anymore. And 32, well, 32 is distanced from your 20's enough to scoff at them 20-somethings (that's right, I'm looking at you, Stinky), but still be kind of in your 30's and still not too old.
So, yeah, I'll stay there. I will still continue to live my life like the soccer mom I really am, yet still pretend I can go out and dance the night away and not give a shit and not bitch. Right.
Yea!! Happy Birthday to ME!!! (Because it's always all about me.)
