So, in the two months I didn't post, I got 345 crap spam comments. And they were just annoying. I mean, they didn't try to sell anything, just random comments like "I like your design" (which I think is pretty evident is a shit comment) and "Interesting point" when bitching about dropping a ladder on my foot. You get the idea.
But, they did leave a url in the comments box, which I followed. It was completely in Spanish and when I ran it thru Babelfish, it still didn't make any sense. Something about checking the internet out of the hospital, or something. I dunno.
Anyway, I am running Movable Type and came across this great MT-Blacklist plug-in. It's a big collabrative list of spammers and it checks against it before allowing the comment to be posted. And it allows for the de-spamming of the existing comments. So, in one fell swoop, all 345 comments went bye-bye. Sweet.
