On of the bad things about watching the war live on tv, or listening to it on the radio, is that the media are trying to have 24 hour coverage of something that only happens in waves.
So, in the down time of nothing happening, besides rehashing what happened last wave, they make all kinds of astute observations such as, "With all of these soldiers surrendering, it will either be good for the coalition, or it won't." Well, no fucking shit Sherlock. Usually things are either one or the other. Really hate the talking heads sometimes.
But one of the really weird things, thanks to all this "technology" is the live videophone feeds from the moving convoys/tanks. Very, very surreal to see this happening "live" on television, or tivo even, since it doesn't realize it needs to get its war on, and it keeps recording what it hopes are shows I will like, instead it gets fed 24/7 news.
And since I listen to streams at work, I was happy to find this site that had all of these different live news streams from all over the world. So now, I can try and get different perspectives on what's happening from other countries. And, I get to listen to dumbass interviewers from around the world ask brilliant questions such as the one I heard yesterday, who was interviewing one of the Iraqi Foreign Ministers who had just complained that the US were liars and were killing thousands of innocent civilians, when the interviewer asked him, "So, how do you feel about what is happening in your country right now?". *shakes head* Sheesh.
